LONDON PUBS WEEK 2009
Saturday 7 November - Sunday 15 November
London Pubs Week 2009 ran from Saturday 7 November - Sunday 15 November and helped promote London LocAle Pubs.
The London Branches of CAMRA have been extending the LocAle scheme across the Greater London area since July 2008 and 36 pubs are now participating.
The idea of the LocAle scheme is very simple: pubs are eligible to sign up if they permanently serve, in good condition, at least one cask beer from at least one local brewery.
For the London scheme, we define a local brewery as one within thirty miles of a pub’s front door. The actual beers and breweries can vary; they do not have to be the same in each pub all the time.
A London LocAle Passport was available featuring the 36 pubs that participate in the CAMRA London Branches’ ‘LocAle’ scheme. Passport holders who drank a local cask ale in each of these pubs during the nine day period could get their Passport signed/stamped and dated by one of the bar staff. Passports completed during the nine day period are eligible for a prize if received by 30 November 2009 - see below.
London based CAMRA members should have received a Passport with their November issue of What’s Brewing magazine. Others could pick one up in any of the participating pubs. You can download a pdf file (1.8MB) of the London LocAle Passport from the main CAMRA website [www.camra.org.uk/plugins/lpw/branches/London-LocAle-Passport.pdf].

The Magpie & Crown, Brentford (21 on the list) was closed for a while but RE-OPENED on Friday 13 November. Completed Passports missing this pub will still be valid.
