NOTICES & INFORMATION FOR BRANCH MEMBERS

This page is for notices and other information for SW London CAMRA branch members.

At some future date members will be required to sign in using the main CAMRA membership authentication system before gaining access to the members’ section.

As this hasn’t been set up yet on this site we will not post any official CAMRA documents that currently require membership authentication.

CHAMPION BEER OF BRITAIN 2012

A chance for CAMRAswl branch members to vote

Nominations were required for the London/South East Champion Beer of Britain 2011 competition. The winners from this area competition are put forward to the national Champion Beer of Britain 2012 competition, the final tasting to be held at the Great British Beer Festival in 2012.

The country is divided into areas and each branch in an area is allowed to vote for a beer brewed in its area in each style category.

There are 11 categories for the competition, Milds, Bitter, Best Bitters etc. For each category, members may nominate up to 5 different beers. Click for the Eligible Beer List (80KB .pdf) and the Eligible Bottled Beer List (67KB .pdf). You can also download the CAMRA beer style guidelines (78KB .pdf) for descriptions of the different beer styles.

We had our voting at our CAMRAswl branch meeting on Wednesday 16 February at the excellent Selkirk, 60 Selkirk Road, Tooting, SW17 0ES.

All branch members were very welcome to come along and vote for their favourites.

To see what was chosen you can click to download a .pdf file (66KB) of the CAMRAswl nominations for the Champion Beer of Britain 2012.

Voting on-line

This year, for the first time, members were welcome to vote online until 14th February by simply following the instructions at www.cbobvoting.org.uk.

Note: Voting was restricted to CAMRA members who needed to login using the same username and password they use to login to the members’ area of the CAMRA national web site www.camra.org.uk.

It wasn’t necessary to vote in every category so you didn’t have to vote for beer styles you seldom drink.
