Battersea Beer Festival 2008
The 18th Battersea Beer Festival ran from Wednesday 6 to Friday 8 February 2008 at the usual venue, Battersea Arts Centre (BAC) and was a great success - 4,283 attended over the three days. Thanks to all who attended and special thanks to all who gave up some of their valuable free time to help out.
The volunteers who worked at the Festival enjoyed a branch visit in July 2008 to the Marble Brewery in Manchester when the certificate for winning the Beer of the Festival was presented to the Marble Brewery’s Head Brewer for Janines One. See picture to the right or click to see some more Photos of the trip.

Those who had been before will have noticed some changes to the layout in 2008, notably with the ciders downstairs in the smaller hall. This was to help BAC maintain the sets for their highly successful dramatic production ‘The Masque of the Red Death’ which continued its run through to 12 April.
Sadly we were also missing two of our long standing bar managers, ’Arry Hart and Peter Smith, who died during the year. You may have seen the obituaries in London Drinker and there were further tributes in the festival programme.
